Slab Plumbing....Almost 100%

Yes, I know, it has been forever since I updated this blog. For reasons that are unimportant, I was very limited on my time spent at home over the last 2 years so nothing was getting done. I am happy to report I am now back to spending half of my year in my home in Vegas and things are moving along. I am back to setting up a schedule to have the house done by July 2015.

One of the first projects on my list, that is finally done, is the slab plumbing. If you remember (and if not just check back on the earlier posts) my bar kept backing up with all sorts of nasty stuff. Well, after running a camera through it, we discovered that the problem was the Cast Iron pipe that had been used, had finally rusted through.

So for the last 2 years, only 2 bathrooms have been usable, and one of those bathrooms had no door. But a little over a week ago, I finally had Drew's Plumbing come out and fix the pipe. Now all of my bathrooms are usable and from previous repairs, 90% of the plumbing in my home is updated.

Why do I say almost 100% you ask? Because I still have another 20 feet of cast iron plumbing running from where the new pipe was just put in out to the main clean out, which Drew's replaced a couple of years ago. It has not collapsed and since to replace it will require jack hammering the slab in a second room, I am choosing to get the holes in one floor fixed before putting more in another. I also am wanting to get the electrical in the room replaced so that while they are breaking the floor up and working, they can see and plug in their power tools.

Just got the estimate for both the electrical and a new back fence, so stay tuned for a lot of updates in the coming months.

For now, I am happy to check this off my list! Enjoy the pictures ;)
